Rouken Glen Park
Giffnock, Glasgow
G46 7UG

Tel: 0141-577 3913

Rouken Glen Park is one of the largest public parks in Scotland and takes its name from the old Rock End Meal Mill that used to be on the land originally.  It was opened to the public as a park in May 1906 having been gifted to the citizens of Glasgow by Archibald Corbett.

Covering an area of just under 230 acres, the park is abundantly green with clipped lawns and charming woodlands.  Areas of formal bedding surround a superb boating pond which is enhanced by colourful waterside planting and water lillies.  The heady fragrances of the walled garden in summer have to be experienced to be appreciated.  Woodland walks guide visitors to the head of the glen and a breathtaking waterfall.

Open from: dawn to dusk daily
Admission prices: free
Other amenities: Walled garden, boating, picnic facilities, restaurant, children's play area, bird watching, running championships often held in the park.
