The following list of potentially
harmful plants has been based on
information contained in the Horticultural Retailers Code of
Practice. The Code is compiled by the
Horticultural Trades Association
(HTA)
who have worked with the Poisons Unit at Guy's Hospital and The
Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. |
|
Apart from Category A, most
plants labelled under the Code are safe to purchase if the
warnings are heeded and they are not planted where small
children will have access to them. The information is
presented here simply as a data source for gardeners and is not
intended to offer any sort of medical advice. In cases of ingestion
or reaction, seek advice from a qualified medical practitioner
(e.g. your doctor or hospital). For
further details about The Code, contact the Information Centre at the
HTA. |
